At the Science & Society Collective, my work spans multiple research areas and domains in collaboration with a broad network of researchers. Together, the Science & Society Group brings researchers together to highlight the interplay between values, politics and the technology and the positive and negative effects of this socio-technical feedback. We emphasize that science and society are necessarily interconnected.
Below you will find a short summary of each of my projects. Please click on any section to read more and explore related publications.

Diversity by Design
Research that examines the potentials and limits of digital technologies for small and medium scale farmers through participatory, practice based methods, aiming to inform more inclusive agricultural policies and technologies that support diverse and sustainable farming systems.

Big Data and AI in Agriculture
Research that examines how big data and digital technologies in agriculture reshape power relations in the agri-food sector, focusing on small and diverse farmers’ engagement and bringing their perspectives to policymakers.

AI Policy
Research that examines how governments at various levels develop and operationalize AI policy, offering social-science expertise to build practical governance tools—best practices, processes, and training—grounded in principles of access, control, transparency, and equity.

AI and Environment
Research that examines the material and environmental infrastructures underpinning AI, informing policy approaches that address its broader environmental justice impacts.

Justice and Recognition in Impact Assessment
Research that investigates how injustice (procedural, distributional, and cultural) shapes environmental governance disputes, using a justice framework to reimagine impact assessment processes and promote more meaningful participation in large-scale development projects in Canada and beyond.
